Yes, wanting is often a much stronger feeling than having. Don't let that happen. It's a gun. You load it, it goes bang and you hopefully hit what you're aiming at. The gun does the same thing as an AR-15 or AR-10 whether it's an L or H but to some it looks cooler. Whole armies use it so it's not a rare commodity, but you know it's built to be rugged. If you really want one and are happy when you get it, good for you. If you find great satisfaction in owning it and shooting it, you are fortunate. You can't ask for much more in the sport of shooting. There are those who have the same feeling about a revolver, lever gun or antique gun they've been searching for and finally found.

Don't worry about what others think about it, just enjoy it.

BTW I think it looks really cool too.

Part of the whole "gun thing" is want! Life is short, I'll never be able to buy a Ford GT-40 (unless I sell my house and live in it!), but a SCAR is well within reach, so enjoy it and remember, good firearms go UP in value---one of the very few things that do that (along with Rolex watches)---so it's a fun item and a good investment! As much as I would enjoy a SCAR, I'll just roll with my FN FAL factory rifle---it's paid for...

People desire what they don't have. Pretty typical. But once you get it and have your honeymoon period, it's whatever at that point.

It is a bit unusual for #1 post. Assuming genuine OP, then buy that puppy and don't look back. Then add a thermal, they will come at night.

I had a deal going a couple of years ago to buy one with a Seekins lower. Seller flaked. Used the money to buy a used SIG 716 (very good price) and a S&W M&P 10 and a S&W model 69.

Led me to decide SCAR was too expensive. Haven't thought about 1 since.

I have a SCAR17 and I personally would not spend more than $3000 on a SCAR. It is not worth it IMHO. I paid around $2600 for mine and consider that to be very expensive for what it is. But I really wanted it.

My M&P10 does the same thing as far just punching .30cal holes in paper.
