Question on those required bills on pistol grips

I was curious, a buddy that is in California mentioned he wanted to buy a S&W FPC after I was showing him mine and I did see them offered at Turners and they have them California compliant.

My question is how does one facilitate a decent grip with that blade or bill thing whatever it's called? It looks cumbersome but having never had one I was curious.

You don't...that's the whole point of the stupid California gun laws!

Do you grip around the entire thing? Maybe the blade part isn't as big as it seems in the picture?

Question on those required bills on pistol grips

I have one with the fin.

It?s no different than using a fin grip with an AR15, etc. You grip it more like a shotgun or standard rifle stock.

It works fine. I always prefer featureless so I can use hi-caps and a standard mag release.

ETA: I?d never thought I?d ever have to say this, but have your friend buy the FPC from Turners vs Riflegear.

Turners swaps the one 17 and the two 23-rounders for three 10-rounders.

RG sticks it to you and gives you zilch. No mags. Not even one 10-rounder. I couldn?t believe it.

You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
            Come on...what harm??

Thanks, I'll let him know. Those pictures were great too, I can see the grip required. Thank you!

I seriously doubt that turners is "swapping" magazines.
They likely order a mag ban state version of the rifle that comes with 10 round mags for sales in California.

You might be right, now that S&W has a complaint version with 10 round mags.

But I know that RG just sends the FPC from their TX location, with a fin installed, and without any mags. Ask me how I know, haha!!

I imagine that Turners was doing the same thing from their AZ locations, prior to the compliant version being available. Except that Turners included 10 rounders even then. But my aversion to Turners kept me from even checking if they had a finned FPC prior to ordering from RG.

Oh well?it?s not like I?m going to shoot this thing anyway, haha!!

Turner's main warehouse is in CA so they probably just order 10 round versions by the pallet and have them shipped to the main warehouse.
Turners most likely then distributes to it's 33 california and 1 arizona locations from their main warehouse.
I seriously doubt they would order for 34 stores and have the items shipped to a single store instead of their warehouse.

Riflegear is a whole different deal.
They have 2 stores and their main warehouse is texas.

You might be right. Turners does get some oddball stuff.

Maybe they had S&W whip up a batch of CA-compliant FPC?s with grip fins from the factory.

No matter. I?ve got one. So I?ve got that going for me.
