    Project Appleseed Piru April 22-23

    California Tactical Academy, Piru, Ca.

    Project Appleseed

    April 22 - 23

Project Appleseed is a non-profit organization that teaches 3 position rifle marksmanship (prone, seated/kneeling and standing). We teach you how to build a proper position, use of a sling for better accuracy, natural point of aim and more. This is great for all experience levels from beginner to advanced.

We also tell the story of the beginning of the Revolutionary War, April 19, 1775. We need to remember what those brave people went through that day, and the days/years to follow. This information is being lost in our schools.

Come join us!! Learn new skills. Dust off the rusty skills

I was registered for the March Appleseed, which canceled due to lack of registrations so I have been re-scheduled for the April event. There are five registered so far and the nice Appleseed Coordinator told me they need at least ten to hold the event. So sign up and join us out in Piru so we can have this event!

Isn't there a new California law that it is illegal to promote any firearm-related activity to youths and children? How is that law affecting Appleseed in the state? I recall the class I took some 12 years ago had lots of kids taking part.

while chicom is training their children on how to operate firearms, commiefornia is teaching the boys on how to use tampon!

The Chicoms remember what Yamamoto said about the blades of grass in America.

They also saw how successful the LGBTQ groomers have been. Weaken them when they?re young.

My father in law and I are signed up for the April shoot. For those that don't know April is the best one to go to. You get the cool red shirts and the colored rifleman patches. Ive got new scope rings for a better cheek weld this year and an older wiser body to take on the task.

Question about Appleseed, I finished (didn?t qualify) with a rimfure bolt gun bc my 10/22 was malfunctioning.

How feasible would it be to do it with a lever action? I imagine the sling might be an issue?

yep! as corrupt as they are, chicom have a vision on global dominance.

potato and america, corruption from within and his vision is to make male into female/female into male and normalize pedo and mutilation of children.

Hopefully I'll see you and your FIL out there! They need to have ten students to run the class. My first Appleseed, just installed my sling swivels, sling, Tec Sights on my 10/22, I need to get out there and sight it in. I have never ran my 10/22 for two days with a few hundred each day but based upon experience with ARs, I will be running it wet and will bring a full cleaning kit.

Still debating about which ammo to shoot, I have a LOT of .22 in stock but I have not tested much of it with my 10/22 for feed reliability. Any recommendations from other 10/22 owners, what brand and type of ammo would you run for an Appleseed? I tend to like CCI Mini Mags, they generally feed well in everything and are relatively clean. Aguila seems to run well but is dirtier, which is a concern for this class. I think I have some various types of Eley in stock too.

I run my 10/22 with CCI standard velocity. I have had really nice results. I think the only recommendation is to avoid the Remington thunderbolt as thats generally unreliable and can cause you to lose some points because you have set ammo amounts for the stages. I've gone 2 times now and ran over 400 but under 500 rounds each time so I would plan on 500 for the weekend. You shoot a lot on the second day.

You need at least 2 magazines but extra are a good idea because sometimes you get that magazine that doesnt want to drop free. Make sure you have a towel to cover your action cause it gets windy there. You have to keep your chamber open with a flag at the line so if you dont have a towel youre gonna get dirt in there.

Thanks for the tips. Yes, towel sounds like a plan. I have a shooting mat too. I have four 10 rounder mags and a few 25s but I am leaving the 25s at home because they get in the way with prone shooting. When I sight it in, I am going to test the CCIs against some Eley. I have a lot of Remingtons because in the last ammo shortage, they were still available. Not my favorite .22s but when they were all we could get, I bought a few thousand.

500 rounds won't be a problem. I'll shoot a session with a few hundred when I sight it in to test. They want you to use their chamber flags, correct? I have a few myself but they aren't Appleseed chamber flags. I'm an RSO so I keep them around.

Also a word to the wise, a 10/22 takedown is highly not recommended by me, especially with TechSights.

The combination of the 2 piece nature of the takedown combined with the sling tension from hasty sling and loop sling make it unusable.

The Magpul backpacker takedown stock combined with the Magpul barrel mounted pic rail (Backpacker Optic Mount) is, however, a great and accurate combination.

Thanks for the heads up, makes sense. I will be using my trusty old plain jane 10/22, hopefully it will work well.

                              Asking for a friend…

If you?re going to cover the action with a towel, how does the chamber flag make a difference?
