Have you seen knock-off B-16's or other mag lock devices?

I have received a report that someone is illegally producing knockoff B-16 bullet buttons. Supposedly they have been for sale at one or multiple gun shows, and some vendors have been approached and offered them for sale in quantity.

Have any of you Calgunners seen or heard anything about this? I know I can count on you guys.

I haven't seen or heard about any. I did just buy 3 b15 kits though cause they were hard to find around. You should continue to make both versions!

maybe because, when toolbox questioned him about the item, the guy asked about his patent #, and never posted again? After he logged out, toolbox responded that it was patent pending and posted a pic, but the guy never logged in to reply.

I am asking why he accused him. What led to Toolbox feeling this guy is infringing on his design? Was it a tip?...things like that...

If I come up with a design and don't post a pic will I be accused too?

I can see where toolbox X is coming from. If there is someone out there copying the design and selling it is one dishonest individual. Sometimes people think of the same thing at the same time, it's just a matter of who builds the mousetrap first. Can I assume that the person infringing on toolbox X's design may have been the case? I hope he comes forward.

I can't answer for toolbox, but perhaps toolbox thought that it might be a copy of either the B-15 or B-16, since he had already thought about ways to design such an animal.

not neccessarily. Depends on if the design is something that another is something that is in the marketplace or not.

True. But it has been 2 weeks since that thread, and if toolbox has gotten reports of a copy-cat design being peddled, I don't see the problem of looking for coroborating info.

If you accused him of possibly violating his patent pending device, and he didn't respond weeks later, and you get reports of someone selling a copy-cat device, then yes, go right ahead and assme away

Had some guy come up to the CWS table and try to sell me some mag locks on Sunday. The way he put it, it sounded like he was just selling some parts he didn't need, and not that he had a new design. I would've asked questions and looked at it carefully if I thought he had something new.

I told him he'd need to go negotiate with Michelle.

For what it's worth, I do recall that the bag included an allen wrench, and I don't remember whether it was for AR's or what. Kind of put it out of my mind since I thought he was trying to resell some parts...

The guy's description sounded like a B-16 and he had no pics. So I asked if he was infringing on my patent, to which he responded by questioning the validity of my patent. If his design was different the easy thing to do would be to say so and post a pic.

I've heard there is someone selling knockoff B-16's at gun shows. I just wanted to know if anyone has seen anything.

I don't put any identifing marks on the B-16 because it would raise the cost and I don't like white laser engraving on the side of my rifles.
