    V93 Rifle

I bought something I know nothing about and here it is:

Well, I bought the CA legal BB version of it anyway and am paying a good deal less than the one on GB auction. I'm a bit familiar with the G3 design but not this version.

What are my options for a scope, what sort of mags does this thing take? If anyone has one, any ammo likes or dislikes or peculiarities? By peculiarites I mean like my DSA FAL had to go a few hundred rounds to break in before it worked well, that sort of thing.

I assume I can use a Stanag type mount, yes? Any other types? Any on line companies that focus on this model? Can I use a CETME set of wood in place of the plastic?

    Any advice appreciated.

I bought one about a year ago, but haven't shot it yet. They take HK93 accessories. You can use a Stanag optics mount like a G3. Mags are BANK!! They are available in 20, 30, & 40 round capacities. I looked hard for 10 rounders & came up with nothing. It's a shame to have to drill a $50+ mag to make it compliant. I heard they are great shooters & if mine is anything like my PTR's, It's going to be awesome.

V93s are nice, though reciever spec is hit or miss. Being made by Special Weapons
the stanag mount may or may not fit, you might have to fit it by filing the feet. Also more than likely a metal ended German HK stock, A2 or A3 may not mount. And iirc the plastic HK33 stock was a tight fit too. Also check if the irons work, mine shot 2" right at 50'
other than that, it ran pretty good. Don't remove the white grease for the first 500 or so rounds for break in.
        Congrats!

Try the wood stock. I think you will like it, less echo than the plastic and way more comfy than the slider.

            Congratulations on the new rifle.
The Vector V93 is a great HK 93 clone. Like the HK93, it doesn't have a last shot bolt hold open feature. The Raddlock fits and functions great. I bought mine with two converted 40 round mags. Good thing, because I die a little inside each time I have to limit a large cap mag to hold a measly 10 rounds.
You will also want to get a case deflector because it when it ejects, the rounds will hit the receiver just behind the ejection port. I'm not really sure if the case deflector will prevent that, so use some thick tape to cover that area when you shoot it also.

I bought 2 from Vector, I've only put about 500 rounds through one, the other is unfired. Love them both.

Arent the mag prices just nuts for HK33/53/93? I converted both a 40 round aluminum and a 25 round steel mag to 10 rounders, man did that ever suck.

The plastic one piece stock is a PITA at first, if you work it from side to side it is much easier to remove. And like previous posters have stated, dont clean off the white grease for a while.

Other than that they are great rifles, albeit noticeably heavier than an AR type rifle.

So I should be able to pick up HK 93 mags and convert to 10 rounds, correct? Rivet through the rear edge is OK?

I bought a G3 surplus wood set through Numrich, see if that fits. I'll get a Stanag, if it's too tight I figure I can make it fit.

As is usually my crappy luck, I checked out the Vector website and some others (Atlantic Firearms) and saw a "Vector is no longer making the V 93" notice. But I'm hoping SJGE can still get one through a distributor. If not I'll go PTR.

Is that a beer bottle opener on the left of the stock?

Yes, as the V53p. They're pretty expensive around $2500-$3000 that I've seen.
