Converting Mini-14s to BB guns and reaming up Barretts, how about SOMEONE taking an M-4 type Semi-auto rifle and making the fore-end into a PUMP. Then we would have our ARs and full capacity mags and working mag releases and accessories. They did this in South Africa when SAs were banned -- and i think it would work.

Like someone said DPMS has one and they make AKs in pump....I don't see the point, might as well just get a pump Remi. To each their own.California Uber Alles, California Uber Alles

I prefer to have my weapons function as closely as possible to the original design, within the parameters that the law allows. The bullet-button and 10-round magazines are sort of a chore, but at least I still have some semblance of the original weapon while I'm shooting. You notice that not many people are buying the old "scissor-load" AR's with welded magazines anymore. In fact, a lot of people who bought those have since converted them to bullet-button rifles. I think these facts are directly attributable to the spread of the OLL movement and the realization that we can legally have something which is at least closer to the "real thing."
If I wanted a pump-action rifle, I would buy a rifle which was designed that way. To me, a pump-action AR-15 makes about as much sense as trying to convert a lever-action rifle to semi-automatic, when there are plenty of semi-automatic rifles on the market. You're twisting the design into something it was never meant to be. But take what I say on this subject with a grain of salt, 'cos I am one of those curmudgeons who would never buy a gas-piston AR for the same reason...

eh... I wouldn't buy it.
Featureless or BB is happier to me.
Pistol is the only place it makes sense - since you can't go featureless.
