It is the blowback operation that is slamming the bolt back. Not from accelerating the modest 9 mm projectile. More felt recoil, like that of an over gassed AK or Mini-14, compared to a full length .223 AR.

The MP5 has a partially locked breech (roller delayed blowback). Hence less blowback boosted recoil.

It's probably still not as good as the top tier guns or else you'd see them dominating PCC competition instead of JP and Brekke.

I dont know side by side mpx blows the mp5 away. Sold my mp5 after I got my mpx. MP5 will always blow away ar9s and thier blowback systems
