how can you not find a lower? they are all over the place

and you talk about 22 mag? do you mean 22lr? they are different

you still can only use 10 rd mags on a 22lr build but it is rimfire and not center fire

"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.

CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
^It does not apply to revolvers, manually operated repeating pistols, and semi-auto pistols." ~~ Quiet

      That looks interesting
It's messed up that we have to go through this when everyone knows they'll just come up with some new way to inconvienience us again.

The weak spot is where the buffer tube screws in....

The reciever is just a box that hold some parts. If you build it right it should last you a life time.

Back in the day when we could gouge out 80% lowers, those plastic lowers were fun.

I built a 22 WMR with my FMK lower. Check out the CG rimfire forum.

I have one but do not shoot it much. Have it as self defense up at property. Always loaded ready to go. Functions fine.

I'll just figure out a way to deal with it and hope that if it breaks, I'll still be able to find a lower.

I don't know about alloy lowers, but regular aluminum lowers are plentiful and still relatively cheap. And legal. That's why I'm (and I'm sure other readers too) are confused that you'd make an apparently suboptimal purchase and are so committed to make it work when the regular product is so available.

Granted, polymer lowers can work fine, and they have their niche, but regular aluminum lowers are pretty much the go-to.

I bid low on it and nobody bid against me

And I was thinking, No huge loss if there's some sort of AR confiscation, down the road .
Because I don't have an investment in an expensive rifle registered to me - Just a lower. I could give them my $30 lower, and it's a done deal.
Bingo I'm a law abiding citizen.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had those thoughts.
But there have also been rumblings about DOJ guys dropping in at the range to make sure guys are compliant.
If someone is compliant, everything is cool - At least for the near future
If you aren't compliant, you're a felon if you get busted.

aluminum lowers are readily available. and legal. you can still get some for ~$50, usually Andersen at that price. Most are under $100

The CompMag looks pretty clever, but can you clear a double feed ?

I'm leaning toward the MagLock because the mag can be dropped by moving the back pin .

Although I don't like that appendage hanging off the side.

A few yrs ago, I wanted a semi auto rifle and I really wanted to buy a Browning BAR, but I kept hearing things about banning ALL SEMI AUTO RIFLES.
So I decided to get an AR instead because of the modular interchangability of parts etc.
I'm not that familiar with ARs though.
I've been into handguns all my life.

Anyhow - Thanks for the help

I found the thread and it looks recent, but the pic wouldn't open

Is yours a BCA ? Heavy barrel ? There are 6 pg to that thread so excuse me if I skimmed over where you mentioned that, already.

It says invalid attachment, on the pic

That other guy's rifle looks fun though.

Everyone has to have a plan for how to handle the way things are unfolding .
That sounds like a good one.

I've owned an FMK polymer lower for 8 years. Built it into a custom lightweight AR-15 which I'm going to list for sale. Never had any issues with it.
