    Muzzle Brake Carbon Buildup Prevention.....

Is there a pre soak or spray that can be used prior to use that will make the cleaning process easier?

No. But you can stand the rifle up muzzle down in a glass jar of carbon cutting cleaner and let it soak for a while before cleaning.

IMO it's a waste of time.

Otherwise use automotive carburetor cleaner on it and scrub it with a brass brush.

I typically ignore the break/compensator cleanliness. Cleaning doesn't make it last longer or shoot any better, unless it's on a 22lr.

I know a guy who put his brake in the tumbler. Cleanest brake I ever saw on the range.

Then it occurred to me, they make pressure washers!

A famous pro just hoses his down a little with brake cleaner and then lets it air dry.

I met a guy from steinbridge (sp) who was a prop manager and rented all sorts of guns to Hollywood.

              Back when Hollywood shot blanks.

He had a bunch of commercial dish washers.
All the uzis, mac10 and assorted gun went into the dishwasher.

--- some will take off the brake, drop it into a small jar of cleaner - and place that jar into an ultrasonic cleaner.

While off, they clean the threads and crown

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

I will clean them every so often with just normal gun cleaner, untill they wind up looking like this. Then I'll just replace it.

If you clean it after each use, it won’t get built up.

I wonder if welders anti spatter spray would work.
                    It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.

For those of us outside of CA, this idea should be tried on disassemble-able suppressors.

                          Why?

I may wipe down exterior, might run a patch down barrel.

Otherwise this is not a show car that parks on carpet
