    SCR Question

Hey guys, I'm moving back in a few months and am trying to make my stuff CA compliant before I come home. Anything I absolutely can't like my suppressors, I'll leave in a safe that only I have access to within a trusted friends safe room out of state.

So my question is about SCR lowers. I know they're hard af to find right now. Assuming they can be had down the road, how do they balance with heavier/longer uppers? I'm really getting back into quads so I'm thinking of selling or storing out of state all my guns with MLok before the move and buying uppers like https://www.redrighthandllc.com/product/recce-lmg/ and https://www.armsunlimited.com/Colt-A...p/le6940ck.htm or the LMT CQB quad uppers and mounting those on the SCR's if/when they become available.

These are all inherently heavy uppers and I so often see people talking about running pencil barrels with their SCR builds. Is that because they just balance horribly with anything heavier?

For context, I'm 6' and an Army Engineer so rucking with weight is no problem and personally I've never been SF so I don't care for the ounces = lbs, lbs = pain lifestyle. I fully intend to gucci my quads up over time, as finances allow. I like em chonky.

The scrs run well. The safety and bad trigger ar ethe biggest issues. That said the v2 trigger is light years ahead of the original

I'd heard about the trigger but not about the safety. What's the main issue there? Is this like a crossbar safety that just doesn't engage or engages too easily?

V2 trigger is decent. No issues with safety on my 2yr old rig. Wilson Combat Recon SS 16" barrel with Fortis 14" MLOC Night Rail, balance is fine. Best shooting rifle I have.

Safety is just a cross bar. Was thinking of adapting a big head off a shotgun safety to make it easier to push off.

If you check Fightlite Instagram, they should be releasing a batch shortly.

18" with MB here, balances fine, trigger fine for real world when polished and run slightly wet IME (a little bigger than 1/2 MOA from bags at 100yds with SMK's, though not an aftermarket AR trigger...), safety fine, not an issue.

One could use a wood stock, and/or weight the plastic stock as desired as well for personal preference.

What is the V2 Trigger? Is this something that I can retrofit to my gun?

Teh existing trigger is fine until you start trying to shoot offhand accurately.

There is no "Wall" on the trigger and you can't predictably tell when it will let off. lots of travel and then it lets off.

I have tried calling them for months and they never pick up the phone.

I don't do Social Media. I consider it to be the down fall of this country.

So how do you communicate with them? If this new trigger is available and will work in my gun I want one.

You should be fine, the SCR lower is lighter than a regular AR-15 lower, but not by a lot. Mine has the polymer stock, but the ones on the OEM website now all have a wood stock. The wood might provide you with better balance.

I'd still advise getting a lightweight hand guard and maybe limit the barrel to a medium profile. If you want something heavier, get it fluted.

Look into the side charging uppers too, they work pretty nice. Gibbz makes a nice side charging upper/handguard combo that works well with the SCR.

The Gibbz SCU does work well with the SCR, but can be a little loose on fitment. Used aluminum tape between the upper/lower to tighten the fitment.

As to V2: IIRC, early production SCRs had a 10lbs trigger which produced mass complaints. Trigger was modified to approx 5lbs in later/current production SCRs.
