    Thoughts on this thread protector?

Looks can be deceiving! The Tacticool22 A2 Birdcage 1/2-28 Thread Protector simulates the traditional look of an A2 flash hider

Figure it would be like a shroud type that just looks the part

If I was going featureless I’d say it’s similarity to an A2 flash hider isn’t worth the potential trouble if misidentified by enthusiastic LE.

LE isn't the one trying to bust you for a flash hider on a rifle. that's the DA

if you are already committing a crime, it doesn't matter..

it looks cool. I mean if you are trying to make a featureless build look like an m16.... but then again the fin is going to suck... so......
"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.

CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
^It does not apply to revolvers, manually operated repeating pistols, and semi-auto pistols." ~~ Quiet

But LE will sure confiscate it for the DA.

AIM Sports sells a functional brake just like it for $10, prob cheaper at retailers

Similar to A2 style brake, the open top slots and closed bottom increase muzzle control and reduce dust signature

Avoidance is a good policy. Why attract attention?

Like an Poorly converted 10/30 magazine. Why have the conversation

Or the case about a gunowner having his AK confiscated by the Police for having a AK Battle Fin in Riverside.

When he tried to get it back, the DA told him he'll first be tried for possession of an Assault Rifle, and if you lose, you lose it all, so the gunowner backed off.
