Mine looks to be older. It has a different barrel and apparently different gas block. Mine is rail height. So another rail would not cover it unless I replaced it.

I have detailed info on what I ended up doing on this thread: https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/....php?t=1789840

I went with a cheaper break than originally planned. Other than that I stuck close to my original intentions. Everything I did is reversable. So as not to change "Dad's" rifle too much or too permanently.

Believe it or not this cheapy UTG rail actually free-floats. The only part where it touches the rifle is near the receiver where it clamps under the delta ring. From there four screws hold the upper and lower halves together. It does not touch upfront. I was surprisingly pleased about that. It would be great if it was longer and had that modern look. But I can live with this. Pretty happy with it. Especially for money spent.

Would ordinary AR-15 setups work? There are a bazillion KAC RAS(?) setups that came back from the sandbox, and I had a YHM setup before it was stolen. What about Magpul?
Got any leads on RAS rails?

They would not fit this rifle. They are cabrine length. This is midlength.

As for where to find them? They are pretty scarce these days. Used to be all over ebay. Not so much anymore. Makes me wish I had not unloaded all the ones I used to own.

          Question
Do you still have the original factory mid length handguard? If so, I'd like to purchase. Shoot me a pm when you get a chance
          Thanks

grip fin and a stock stop should make it featureless, maybe a brake if that's a flash hider on there

              Oh my!
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

If you contact Smith and Wesson directly, they will sell you one. That's where I bought mine. Heads up though, they do not have heat shields.
