Semi-Auto MG42 with a bullet button AND ammo basket (UPDATE)

I added a follow up post to demonstrate the addition of the ammo basket prevents ammunition but from being loaded into the weapon UNLESS a tool is used to open the top cover. The ammo basket will be permanently fixed to the feed tray. I cannot add the pictures to this actual post because of the limited amount of pictures that can be posted.

    Hi Folks,

I previously posted in another thread about the possibility of the ownership of a semi-auto MG42 in California. I was made aware that because of the protruding pistol grip, belt-fed and flash hider, it was not legal to sell with just a 10-round belt.

So.... we made a bullet button that operates with the use of a 8mm Mauser bullet or screw driver.

Here she is in all her semi-auto glory

Here is the HDI-fabricated bullet button

Inserting a 8mm Mauser bullet into the top cover

    Popping open the top cover

No modification to the receiver and it opens and closes like a champ

great idea but, is it still possible to load a belt (using starter tabs) without opening the top cover?

haha great work, but whats the point of having a MG42 with a ten round clip LOL, you can probably get like one burst off each belt.
