Osprey Gas Piston System selling to the public!!

I was just at the Orange County gun show this past weekend and got one of these bad boys. To my understanding, I thought they weren't selling these to the public, but now they so I had to get one. I just had the chance to shoot my ar and it was everything they said it was. After 250 rounds I got home to clean my rifle and it was already clean, awesome! Well the guys from Old Guard Armory are going to be out at the Vegas Gun show and then out at the one in Arizona, so get them while you can. For $360 you can't go wrong. I tried there site and it isn't up yet, but heres the gentlemans contact if you just can't wait apilchgolf@hotmail.com

Not sure I would pay to convert a DI to a Osprey, when you can just buy a factory upper.

Here's some pics from their website - they actually have a spiffy URL, gaspiston.com.

For $65 more, i'd rather have a PWS piston system....proven by many, many users...

Am I the only one that thinks that piston and op rod look a bit wimpy?

Agreed! PWS would be the only system I would consider for a piston upper or a retrofit.

For a user installed piston conversion that fits on your current rifle regardless of its configuration, with no permanent mods, thats transferable from rifle to rifle for $360....

If its proven reliable Im in.

Actually with the Calguns.net discount with us here at Addax, it is only about $48 more, and the system is professionally installed, meaning that all of your AR parts are inspected, gauged and if it meets our spec, we install the PWS piston system, test fire it, clean your upper and ship it back to you..

I think that one might have issues... HK does not like copy cats unless a company buys their design and manufacturing licenses...

not to mention the PWS system would be properly weighted, less of a carrier tilt problem, less of a piston corrosion problem, less of a over pressured system which lend to pre-matured parts wear.....

The DI Gas gun are deigned and all parts are weighted, a certain weighted carrier with a certain spring pressure and a buffer that is designed to work with everything.. insert a piston, especially a ill-designed piston, you end up upsetting all the balance that Mr. Stoner put into the original design and completely throw the gun off balance... Piston are mean to be run in a more squared receiver with rail, it is never mean to run reliably in a tubular AR receiver...just look at the piston gun Mr. Stoner designed shortly after the M16...AR18.

that upper have certain features removed from the original HK design to avoid any patent issues.....it is not a true HK piston upper, it has the features and design perimeter, but it is not a true copy.....
