    XCR or AR

I'm looking into building a 6.8spc SHTF carbine. I already have a bushmaster carbon15 i like alot however, I have to bug to get something with a little bit more punch and accurate out two 300 or so yards.

I currently am leaning toward the XCR because of the good things I've heard about it, but I like the AR platform because off all the things you can do to it (but I don't want my collection to get too ar heavy :P ). Any suggestions one way or another?

LMT MRP or XCR -- Gots both -- barrel interchangeability is cool beans!

      Get another AR.
If you're worried about SHTF, then being able to swap most parts between the two (or any other AR) may be helpful.
If you just want a great rifle, get the XCR.

I think your AR will do fine for SHTF so I would get the XCR to fill out the collection and not worry about parts availability for the XCR. If anything you can stock up on parts for the XCR.

AR's will do the job out to 300+ if you can hit the target. Now, if you need to reach out further, I would get a bolt gun. This is what my XCR tTactical did at 100 yards:

nice shooting! I like the fact you can do caliper and barrel conversions in a snap with the XCR too.

One lower and many uppers. I am really trying to get a 6.5 Grendel upper to try out. It looks promising.

I have only seen one XCR show up for a qualification and it failed to make it through the train up and qual fire

There is also a ongoing thread on another forum in which several people (including one of the most respected instructors in the country) mention several reliability issues related to the inherent design of the weapon

Take that for what you will

                        Agree also.

                        two AR15s =
                        1) One ready to go for tight CQB work, the other set up for AT&T work.
                        2) If one goes down, you have spare parts.

Collectors have multiple guns, Survivors have two of the same gun.

XCR's are exotic in comparison to the ARs, I like that. Either way you will have an awesome rifle.
