one of my ARs is barely ejecting brass. i mean it's BARELY ejecting brass. it falls inches from the rifle. is this undergassed or overgassed?

Does it cycle good? Do you get bolt lock? If so it could be a weak ejector and/or extractor spring.

it occasionally stove pipes. it locks back. i'm using a toolcraft NiBo BCG brand new.

Does it lock back on an empty mag 100% of the time?

Is the whole gun new or just the BCG? With the previous BCG it worked fine? If so, then the gas key might be the issue.

It's brand new.

if new- try a different brand of ammo... set up cell phone to record the extraction and ejection cycle

return to manufacturer with assistance from FFL for warranty work.

Over sprung action spring.
Buffer weight too heavy.
Weak gas at the gas block or gas key.
Poor lubrication on a new AR clone.

Any of the above can induce malfs.

Try NATO powered 556 ammo first and test again.

It's brand new.

Oil it and shoot it with milspec 5.56 ammo, NOT 223.
Steel cased Russian ammo and PMC bronze are two specific types of ammo that cause otherwise good guns to malfunction so avoid those with new guns.

Don't do ANYTHING until you have several hundred rounds through it.
It's going to break in and run better and better as the sharp edges are smoothed out.

Keep it clean and WELL oiled! Hinge open the upper and run the BCG with just your finger and listen/feel for smoothness, add more oil til it's nice and quiet.

ya know, i've wondered if it's the ammo. it's wolf gold 223. i wondered that because i remember shooting it through my X95 and not getting consistent bolt lock back all the time. the X95 is fairly new as well. i'm using a JP polished buffer spring and a KVP 4.3oz buffer. I keep it lubed, but not dripping with lube. i use those same buffers and springs in all my ARs though and none of them eject like this one.

i will clean, oil and test with 5.56 NATO first.
