Tantal extension.

I need to add about 5mm to the overall length of my Tantal to get it over the magic 30 inch mark. I was thinking about adding a few washers on the muzzle break to get the length. Does anyone have a better suggestion or set up?

Get a longer muzzle brake? There are tons of 14x1mm LH threaded muzzle brakes that will fit your Tantal.

Use an appropriate thickness spacer rather than a bunch of washers. Stacked washers looks kind of funky, IMHO. If you don't want to keep the original look of the rifle then do what bigthaiboy suggests.

BTW, what kind of groups do you get with your Tantal? I've been thinking of building one but the non-chrome lined bore is a big minus.

I just have the rifle right now. 2200 of Mother Russia's finest 5.45x39 rounds are making their way to Kalifornia as we speak. In my mind it shoots one inch groups at 1000 yards!! I am expecting min. of grapefruit.

I have one and you'd better not shoot it lest reality shatter your dreams.


It is, however, fun to shoot, it's one of the few cartridges that won't break the bank when bumpfirng 30s plus, it looks cool slung over your shoulder with the stock folded (oops, sorry about that)
