bolt catch problems

What difference do you see between the APF and your other lowers? I had a PSA lower and the bolt catch wouldn't fit into the slot. I looked closely and the slot for the catch release had a little ridge where it was milled inside. I filed it down and it works perfectly now. Is yours too tight for the catch to fit inside the slot?
Edit: I'd recommend not filing your lower without contacting APF because filing will probably void the warranty. I filed mine because I could see the obvious problem and it was an easy fix, and the lower was only $40.Last edited by SanDiego619; 02-06-2021, 9:05 PM.Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. It kinda seems like milled for a certain bolt catch. Not sure if this is what they would call proprietary or something. Im going to contact apf about, Im just not sure if its because Im not experienced enought or theres something to learn from apf lowers.
Thanks for responding I hope Im making senseComment

It makes sense, so the catch won't fit in at all? I checked APF's website and while I did not look at every single lower they sell, the ones I saw said they were mil spec.It kinda seems like milled for a certain bolt catch. Have you built a lower before? The catch should at least fit in the slot. Maybe they do have a proprietary slot, but I would be surprised if that was the case.Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. Where the government fears the people you have liberty.

If you look at APF's website photos, they are identical to the OP's.... well, no they aren't. The OP's bolt catch slot looks like the outer half has been cut out of alignment!Last edited by Grumpyoldretiredcop; 02-07-2021, 8:46 PM.I'm retired. That's right, retired. Is that slanted?
Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.
CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.

What the holy ****Hello CG I'm trying to install a lpk on a apf lower. I noticed the bolt catch wont fit on the lower. Not sure if Im doing this right or missing something but im comparing it to my other lowers and it seems like the apf lower might need its own style bolt catch? Anyone familiar with this?
Thanks
