    Both can be re-used.
Gas tube roll pins tend to lose their spring so if they are not tight going into the new gas block, use a new one.

Taper pins? Yeah I’ve reused them

        Spring pins? Nope

They’re so cheap, why not replace it?

You can get a bag of 8 for like $2

FWIW, I was told by a local 'smith that when pinning a new FSB to a new barrel, new taper pins also need to be used.

thanks gents. i was going to buy another 16" ar barrel but found out the limited availability, not just barrel but other parts as well. it is not urgent or must have but just another spare to add in the bin. so when i took apart 3 of my uppers for a new set up, i want to re-use (taper pins, gas tube pin and a barrel nut with one missing tooth ) them. anyway, thanks for the info.

That's only necessary if the old ones got messed up.
That was common with DPMS pins which were not hardened properly.
Any properly hardened pins will not be damaged during installation or removal and can be re-used over and over.

You can do a lot better than that at your local hardware store or online.

No, you do not need new taper pins, but its good to change the roll pin. I've even used safety wire on the gas block roll pin in the past, as a back up to keep the pin in. Safety wire is not needed however.
