This is the link to the description from their website:

The prongs might be a little worrisome. Same when I bought a Gamma many years ago. Description on the site said nothing about flash suppression but once I got the package, printed right there inside the paper sleeve. While it does not specifically state it's a flash hider, LEO has not been known to be well versed in the entire after market game and might rise suspicion.

So many options out there, might want to consider something plain as day, but it's your show man.

VG6 fixed the miswording and all package literature describes it as a compensator... It is a great comp and is actually a flash enhancer...

I would avoid anything with the word flash in it.

          Flash suppressor
          Flash hider
          Flash Enhancer
          Flash oppressor
          Flash boobies

Also as someone else mentioned above the prongs on the end of that device make it look like a flash hider/suppressor. Most comps/breaks end with a small hole at the tip which trap gasses behind the bullet and force them out the sides of the device.

Because I want to be well within the law and not raise any eyebrows I opted for the Troy Medieval Muzzle Break.

We wrote this article about featureless muzzle devices legality in CA. We are open to comments to improve the information as well.
First off, please excuse this blogging platform and/or advertising and related stories at the bottom. This is an experiment and a quick…

This was an informative article. I agree with all the points you bring up. I own one of your grips and it's the one I always recommend to others.

I decided to return the muzzle device. I personally don't like living in ambiguity so I figured it would just cause me more paranoia than I care for.

Maybe we will get lucky on 2/03 and have more options to choose from.

Awesome! We appreciate that. Yes, we will be watching tomorrow and hoping for some positive news! Maybe check out our thread protectors (or muzzle brake) instead. FYI, the article wasn't written to create paranoia, so hopefully it didn't do that. We wrote it to be informative and give people the tools to evaluate muzzle devices for themselves (we are not adding any value to the gun community if we only told people "ours was not a flash hider").
