    Aimpoint Comp Question

Posted this over on the Optics side, but either no one knew, saw, or cared, so let me try over here.

Wondering if anyone knows of how I can find out the exact mm lens size for the Aimpoint Comp M4S both front and back (want to buy UV lens protectors for it). My measuring capabilities are a bit lacking right now.

    Thanks.

    Why "UV lens protectors"?

    Sensitive eyes?

...or are you thinking that you need to protect the lenses from the elements like the front element of an SLR camera lens?

Not many people are that anal retentive about their optics.

Not sensitive. In fact they don't need to be UV coated, just thought it might be nice to protect the glass on a $700 optic, seeing as it, well cost $700.

That's why they come with flip up lens covers.

There are a lot of folks--myself included--who don't bother worrying about their unprotected Leupold Mk 4, Nightforce and USO optics on the higher end.

You really don't want to mess with the len coating on the Aimpoint or any reflective technology red dot for that matter. the objective lens are for reflection of the red dot so the projection from the diode can be seen clearly with the proper light and color transmission.

Aimpoint lens are already coated with light transmission coating and the multiple layers of the glass are lamented together to give you the best possible protection against scratch.

I have use a rag and wipe down my Aimpoint where mud and dirt have gather, not a single scratch..
