    Milspec (non-ambi ) charging handles

I'm looking for a basic AR15 charging handle.

Don't want ambidextrous or oversize just a nice, regular CH.

    What do you all recommend?

BCM short lever. Easier to grab with gloves or a scope on top.

Vltor still makes the old BCM charging handles.

What is the advantage of the “ boutique “ CH’s on non suppressed AR’s?

It's an AR - anything will get the job done

Radian supposedly durability tests their handles to ensure they can do 1 million cycles without a failure, and they certainly do feel very solid, and I enjoy using them in my builds

Edit: OP, when I want basic, Anderson is my go-to. Their 7075 aluminum basic CH is like $15

Just make sure it is made of 7k aluminum. There are a lot of cheap ones out there made of 6k. If it doesnt state 7k, it is likely 6k.
