    Easy to Use Ballistics Program Which Shows Graphs?

    I used a very simple program on the pc many many years ago which was not too complicated to use and I could easily graph and print different trajectories based on different zeros for a particular type of round. Of course I forgot the name of it!

    I know there are very advanced ballistic programs out there which even have different scopes involved, but really just looking for easy to use and to make graphs with multiple zeros to compare.

    Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!

      I use Ballistic AE on my phone.

      You do have to have input B.C., velocity, scope height over bore, and your turret gradations.

      After that, I think it is easy.

      It has a large library of loads, projectiles etc to make it easy.

          Thanks for the suggestions I'll look at all the above.

          Ar15barrels what program is that?
          The first table is making my head spin, I'm not even close to that type of proficiency yet.

          Second table is more my style (as in I can actually understand it).

          Definitely looking for more of an easy zero chart. Something to get an estimate of where I should zero and work out the exact details of my round at the range.

          I don't know **** about the atmospheric pressure or what the wind is during the day...I just know whats written on my box of ammo and my guns specs.

            several of the better ballistic software programs as well as devices such as the higher level wind meters will directly access and input local atmospheric pressure and other such related data from your cell phone or computer...it's pretty interesting

            once you start using them a bit they become easier to manipulate and understand

            maybe download one of the free ones (many companies offer them like Lapua, Hornady etc)....get a handle on it and then move up to a more advanced format as your interest and experience grows.

              I used Quicktarget which is included with Quickload to run those simulations.
              I just happened to be playing with 17hmr ballistics so that's what I copied and pasted as an example.

              If you give me all your specific info, I can run a simulation for you.
              I need bullet make/model, velocity and atmospheric conditions like altitude or pressure and temperature.

                OP don't get too reliant upon a ballistic program while shooting. They are fun to use at night at home, but in the field, you are going to have so many other variables, which makes shooting an art. Use a ballistic program to give you data to give you a close to zero at a range, but develop the art of making a correct assessment without a ballistic program.

                  Thanks I appreciate that, but I have a bunch of different calibers and a bunch different types of those calibers at that which I wouldn't want to put on anyone to do the work for me. I'd rather learn how to do it, but these apps seem complicated (to me at least!)

                    Yes thats pretty much what I plan on doing. Just looking for a starting point, a general zero guidline so I knownwhatbI should be aiming for. Thats why I'm looking for something simple and not too complex.

                    I haven't looked at all the suggestions but will do when I get more time.

                      Quicktarget will let you make graphs with multiple traces for comparative reasons.

                      As an example:


                      Quicktarget is NOT simple though as it has ALL the possible variables as inputs that you need to understand to get good results from it.
                      You won't ever get good (usable) results without actually understanding the process enough to give good input values.

                      There does not seem to be a limit on how many traces you can add to a graph.
                      I took my 17hmr simulation and added traces for 5 different velocities here:
