    Exterior barrel fouling?

Hi Guys, need some advice on this. I just built my first ar15 and test fired it and noticed a lot of brass/goldish color on the exterior of the barrel. Tried wiping it off and would probably need solvent to clean it off, is this normal?

.223 wylde barrel 1:8 twist with basic 2 port muzzle brake, toolcraft nickel boron bcg, anderson lower.

I shot roughly 200 rounds of american eagle brass 223 55g.

Looks like you burned off some dirty lube.

    Clean and shoot.

Is that a .308 crush washer?

Some gas blocks have the gas tube drilled all the way through and depending on your ammo or gas system that there sometimes happens.

Aside from your crush washer hurting my eyes lol, I'd just clean it off and leave a real thing coat of oil.
