Any grendel plinkers or 500+ yards plinkers In here?

I joined the grendel forum but like 450bm forum its slow and pretty dead.
I am about to start my grendel build and want to see what some grendel aficionado s have to recommend for a first timer in long range or anything grendel.
    Thanks
I winged my bushmaster build and its a monster.
Though I would try my skills at 1000 yards since I don't have much time in long range shooting but hunting and zeroing.

I built an 18” Grendel, in hind sight I wish I would have chosen a longer barrel. The Grendel is an outstanding caliber, even with an 18” barrel. Good luck with your build.

EDIT: If we are posting pictures, here is my.

Aero Precision M4E1 upper and lower
    Aero Precision BCG
    BCM buffer tube assembly
    BCM LPK
    B5 SOCOM Stock
    Sparrow Dynamics Grip
    ALG HG
    ARP 18” Mid-Length 5R 6.5Grendel barrel
    VG6 Brake
    LaRue 2 Stage Trigger
    LaRue C.A.N. Scope mount
    Viper PST scope MRAD
    Harris Bipod
    ACS 10 6.5Grendel magazine

It shoots bug holes and clovers at 100 yards all day long!

I am just waiting for a few more parts to show up to finish mine. I wish I could remember who I got my barrel from, but alas, I lost the receipt and have no clue where it came from. I did opt to get a 20" barrel because I wanted to wring out more velocity than you get with the 18" barrels and this one was on sale. It is a heavy barrel profile, add the can and I can say that this is a looong rifle and is no lightweight. I figure it should retain accuracy better over long shooting sessions.

I don't think the rest of it is all that remarkable, just the usual standard stuff:

      Noreen lower
      Aero upper,
      single stage trigger
      Mlok handguard
      Luth adjustable stock
      adjustable gas block
      AAC M4-2000 suppressor.
      Alexander Arms bolt and carrier
      E-lander magazines

Still waiting for my bipod to show up and I have to chose a scope which will determine which set of scope rings to get. I am leaning towards some sort of night vision as I plan on going pig hunting in Texas this coming winter as well as busting some squirrels here and there.

Pay no attention to the cheap Simmons scope I only put it on there because I wanted to see how high of a set of rings I am ultimately going to need.

I wish I was in their league.
My scope still hasn't come in yet.
My 3006 ammo is all Barnes freaking 50$ a box and I dont think my scoped savage is capable of 400+ yards.

Long ago I got the 24" AA upper with Lothar Walther barrel, no brake, meant for long distance, as at the time there were no .308 lowers legal in CA. It shoots well long-distance for a 5.56 platform variant.

I punted on the upper, and bought a 18" ss upper and bolt from Grendel Hunter. Completed it with a WMD bolt carrier and a Rise RA-140 trigger in a nothing special lower stocked with a Thordson gen 2.

It's wearing a Primary Arms 4-14 for now. That's a decent scope, but may switch it out for something else suitable for longer ranges

I like the rifle. I bought it for a field gun and range toy, but it's only seen the range so far.

Grendel Hunter did a good job on the upper. It groups very well, even with wolf steel. I've taken it to 500 yds, and am pleased. IMHO 18" seem like a good comprise length, enough for good long range velocity, but not overly long and unwieldy in the field.

Love my 20" but I don't get a lot of chances to use it here.

Yeah I realized years ago when I finally got a bolt action that the only places than can allow 300+ yards are located 1.5 hours away minimum.
And well I also want it for when I visit Nevada we just drive out of town and pick a flat spot and have at it.

Grendel is 500 yards and out. Under 400 I prefer my AR-47 commie shooter.

You know the only reason I run ar's more than ak is because I could never hit anything past 250 yards in any ak I got. So instead of a psl or like wise clone I picked to build a grendel instead.
I know its not the tool its the user but I suck with aks

I have a 20 inch build, its a fun gun to shoot, I usually shoot it 700 and under, if I was going to 1000 I'd use a 24 inch barrel instead of the 20.
