anyone using ar15 compmags?
Tags: None -
Bought it, tested with dummy rounds could never get them to stay proper when I had to clear a jam, which you cant because you cant open the action or drop the mag. So I sold it. Instead went with the Resurgent Arms grip. Never looked back and no issues with clearing jams. -
I use a couple with no issues. Watch the video on proper loading which they have and you should not have any issues."You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
"What we get away with isn't usually the same as what's good for us"
"An extended slide stop is the second most useless part you can put on a 1911"
"While Ruger DA revolvers may be built like a tank, they have the aesthetics of one also,
although I suppose there are a few tanks which I owe an apology to for that remark"Comment

I have them installed on most of my safe ARs. They work fine. Can clear jams by locking the mag in the down (loading) position. They are very slow to load. Ok for bench or teaching new shooters. No good for an operator or HD. I like how easy they are to install and remove and keep you legal while not in use.Comment

1. Open the contents of the packaging and ensure all parts were included for install.
2. Unload your AR and make sure it is safe for handling and installation.
3. Using a flathead screwdriver, use the flathead to push gently on the side of the compmag moving it to the edge of the table and into the trash can.

The rounds flip around sometimes. Hard to fix when this happens.Comment

it's a pain to load and make sure rounds are pointed the right direction (as noted by others).
im running it in my 300BO pistol.. so the rounds flip more easily being shorter.
that being said, it doesnt require me to open up the action... which i hate.Comment

No issues with round flip but I use the recommended technique in their video to load."You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

thanks guys. my main reason was to stay legal and be able to easily change back if need be. red i will watch the video. i didnt yet as wife and i were both able to load both rifles ok if we didnt rush it. with both rifles loaded and a bag full of loaded 30 rounders and a couple screw drivers with the rifles i figure we are good to go if something nasty happens here. the way i look at it is if i need more than 10 rounds to protect us then screw the damn laws as surviving comes first.
and as someone else said i do have other rifles etc. the main thing for me is both those ars are ready to use and cali compliant.Comment

Tried them. Didn't care for them. Would use on a range only gun if I wanted to keep all my features, but otherwise I prefer other solutions.NRA Benefactor Life Member

This. It took me some practices on how to load it properly. It works fine for my AR and my SCAR. The only complaint I have is that the mag is a bit too long so you might need a taller bipod for bench shooting .

cannot be more easier being compliant and change back by installing the compliant grip. Your not even modifying the magazine or action. Resurgent Arms or Sparrow grip is a no brainer.thanks guys. my main reason was to stay legal and be able to easily change back if need be. red i will watch the video. i didnt yet as wife and i were both able to load both rifles ok if we didnt rush it. with both rifles loaded and a bag full of loaded 30 rounders and a couple screw drivers with the rifles i figure we are good to go if something nasty happens here. the way i look at it is if i need more than 10 rounds to protect us then screw the damn laws as surviving comes first.
