Shortest overall length for AR 9mm carbine?

If I wanted to build a 9mm AR (carbine, not pistol), what is the shortest overall length I could build? I know the barrel would be 16 inches long. Length of pull should be, what, 12.5 inches? Are 9mm AR receivers a little shorter than .223/5.56? Overall length of 34 inches possible? I've never built an AR. Thanks for any help.

No, the receivers are the same length, only the magwell location and magwell length are different on a 9mm. 30” is the minimum length you can go

The length really depends on what stock and buffer tube you choose to use....

Just measured my 9mm, it comes in at 32.5”. This is using std buffer tube, and a MFT minimalist stock, no muzzle devise just a thread protector

Could go shorter, but that’s where I like the stock at...

Can't you have folding stocks if the mag is locked?

If the mag is locked yes you can have features, but the 30” minimum measurement will be tested with the stock in its shortest configuration.
                    What he said.

Having a fixed magazine allows a semi-auto centerfire rifle to have a folding/telescoping stock, but it does not negate the minimum overall length requirement.

Mine's right about 32". I'm not sure you can get under 30" without a folding stock, if you use a standard length buffer. Without the stock on mine, the buffer puts it right about 30, so any stock at all will take it farther.

When I bought my Sig MCX (pre RAW), it came with a side folding stock, but a ridiculous ~8" brake so when it was folded, it'd still be above 30".

First thing I did was remove that silly thing and add a telescoping/non-folding stock.
