Whereas maglocked ARs still look the same, so it gives more of an impression that it works the same.

When in fact the opposite is true, featureless operates the same as a regular AR while maglock only looks the same.

I was thinking the same thing. The username is a red flag. Sounds way too 'friendly', too overtly signaling... "Hey I'm one of you!" Nice try.

And yeah I know, maglock defenders will say that with "the right setup & practice", they can reload just as fast...as a noob with a featureless rifle and no practice.
I'm not defending any particular product, but I'll say that the PG issue is a little more than just about appearance. You are not just looking at the rifle. You're holding it and firing it, and a good old standard PG is far superior to any of the alternatives. I understand that appeal. Of course the mag changes are clunkier and there's potential for loading/chambering problems, so that is an obvious deal breaker if the rifle is intended for SD (they all should be?). That and the 10-round limitation. Therefore, it's smarter to live with a funky grip on the rifle so long as everything else operates as it should.

Yeah, it can get a little expensive trying to find the right solution. On my one non-registered lower I tried a fin grip, then went to Juggernaut, then Kingpin setups (paired with my comfy ERGO grip), then got tired of the 'fixed mag' limitations.

So looking then at the Sparrow and Resurgent Arms grips, I flipped a coin and bought the RA grip. I would not say it feels awesome to hold. It's narrow where I wish it was fatter, and fat where I wish it was narrower. Just isn't built for my hand. I could try modifying t, using maybe some autobody putty to fatten up the front a little, eliminate the "thumb shelf" on the right/palm side. that ambi feature is actually an annoyance. IMO, it would work better if it had been designed in distinct right-handed and left-handed models. (That means making two molds, and tooling is expensive. He tried to "do it all" with just one mold. Totally understandable.)

But of course I am also thinking I should just try the Sparrow at some point. Might avoid all that hassle.

Been covered so many times, - mag locked AR's look great, but i relegate them to range guns, my goto AR's are all featureless just due to the malfunction issue with mag locked AR's.

That's really only if you use 10/30 magazines. Actual 10 rounders you can just pull out the base plate/spring/follower. It's more messy and obnoxious of course, not something you'd do in a gunfight. But not unsafe or a "world of problems".

I have a sparrow grip I know they may look funky but they are comfortable in the hand. You also get the benefit of having standard 30 round mags between you and me go featureless. If you are a real purist you can get a birdcage muzzle brake that is sealed off in the top to prevent the flash.
retreat! we must go comrade we will fight again another day.

I use a Resurgent Arms Grip, Strike Industries Stock Stop, and a Primary Weapons Systems PRC 556 Comp. I am all set in terms of being featureless and being legal. I originally had the Juggernaut Tactical Hellfighter Maglock Kit and it was a pain in the ***.
