im the one that under 21, i already have a hunting license, so i just need my fsc and i could legally buy a stripped lower or get one ppt to me?

it now illegal to buy a semiauto center fire rifles if ur under 21 now so i would have to find one that already altered, but i think itll be much cheaper to build and alter it myself

Yea, the 80% is last on my list, I already have a hunting license and when i went to buy a stripped lower, the ffl told me i had to be 21 to buy it

Federal laws prohibits a FFL from transferring a firearm, that is not a Title 1 Rifle or Title 1 Shotgun, to a person under the age of 21. [18 USC 922(b)(1)]
^These laws prohibits a person under 21 from legally acquiring a receiver from a FFL.

The valid CA hunting license does not provide an exemption to a person age 18-20 to legally acquire a semi-auto centerfire rifle.
^It only provides an exemption for manually operated centerfire rifles, single-shot centerfire rifles, rimfire rifles, and shotguns.

Don't buy anything right now. You'll get shafted by the greedy weasels. Just wait until the panic slows down. If it ever does.

Yes. Under the Gun Control Act (GCA), shotguns and rifles, and ammunition for shotguns or rifles may be sold only to individuals 18 years of age or older. All firearms other than shotguns and rifles, and all ammunition other than ammunition for shotguns or rifles may be sold only to individuals 21 years of age or older. Licensees are bound by the minimum age requirements

I think California made it so you have to be 21

I might have posted in haste. I think if you have a hunting license you can get one once you are 18. I will defer to the multitude of people who know more than me.

ik it sounds like a pain but im thinking it might be my best option if i dont want to involve anyone else to finish my build. lets say i go thru with it, after obtaining a serial number from the doj and putting it onto the lower and sending proof that i did, can i hang onto the lower for however long until i want to start milling it, or do i have to immediately start milling and finishing the rifle? Also if i finish building the rifle and i sent off the final pics of it completed can i still shoot it at the range in the mean time until they get it approved or will i be stuck with a rifle i cant shoot for a year?

Forgive me if I am missing something, but if you have a hunting license can't you buy a lower? If so, you can get one from PSA for 40-50 bucks. I don't think there is an age differentiation between stripped lowers and 80% lowers.

I thought i could buy a stripped lower to but my ffl told me i cant buy a stripped lower with a hunting license if im under 21, im assuming it legal for me according to earlier replies from others that another option would be to go with the 80% lower

I remember the old days back in 2013 (before long gun registration) when I
gave my young kids several rifles that I built. Also when I picked up a handgun I would add a couple of striped lowers to the order. No wait required.

My kids are now adults and they still have the rifles I built them when they were
very young. There is no mandatory long gun registration law. These days? Yes when buying.

Get yourself a good Lever gun and enjoy that.

Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728).
