    Long Stroke Piston AR?

    Anyone make one?

Not sure if ZM makes one.

I hate the buffer tube because I want a side folder

The ZM is the only one I'm aware of - and since you have to keep it over 30" anyway you can only use a side folder on an AR with a long barrel and muzzle device.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

ZM isn't a piston. It's DI with the spring moved over the barrel.

Piston systems don't remove the need for a buffer.

We just released the Addax ATAC GPU (Advanced Tactical AR Carbine) Gas Piston Upper that utilizes a specially designed Long Stroke Piston System we worked on with PWS. This upper can be mounted onto any AR15 lower receiver.

        Coming Soon.

The new Addax ATAC-GPU (Advanced Tactical AR Carbine) Gas Piston Upper.

This is a Dedicated AR Gas Piston Upper, that is a specially designed self regulating long stroke piston upper.

We will have several different models of the ATAC GPU including the "Operator", and Zombie Killer (limited edition).

          Here are some more pics..

Here are some pre-production pics of my Addax ATAC 16" GPU prototype at the range today. This is a pre production/testing prototype.

I used my LMT lower receiver.

I would love to introduce a side folder, and we (PWS and I) looked into doing this, but then most of the LE/Military Full Auto AR/M16/M4 lower receivers would not work in full auto, with a redesigned bolt carrier set up (that would negate the buffer tube and make it a side folder), we would have to manufacture specially designed lower receivers.

It is a project we have on the radar for the future.

I will be conducting groupings and accuracy testing with Taran Butler sometime in the next 3-4 weeks.

The Sig 556 is a long stroke gas piston that comes with a folding stock. All you need is a bullet button and a longer flashider to meet the 30" OAL!

Addax, that long stroke piston looks awesome! Any chance you'll be doing a left side cocking lever version, ala the Fal?

As soon as I can get my hands on more side charging uppers, I am going to see if we can incorporate the new system with that upper.

The Side Charging uppers are a bit bulkier than normal AR uppers, so I need to check to see if we can make the upper work with no or very minimal fitting modifications.

You bring to market a Side Charger with the new system and I'll break open my SCAR piggy bank.
