Saiga 223 bullet guide taking a lickin

I have around 500 rounds through this rifle and it performs flawlessly. However my dinzag arms flat trunnion bullet guide is getting pretty chewed up. Not sure if this is normal or not. I understand alittle deformation as it breaks in but it's pretty rough looking. Anyone have any experience with this? Id post pics but calguns doesn't get along with my phone very well

I know from the Saiga restorals I did using Dinzag bullet guides, Steel case will bevel the front top edge a bit, but won't effect function.

That would make sense but ive never shot steel cased anything through this gun. been mostly using pmc brass cased ammo. A hardened steel bullet guide should be able to handle that no problem I would think.

If it feeds reliably then you're good to go, personally I had a Russian bullet guide riveted in

Im just worried that one day it'll erode so much that it will stop doing its job reliably. Only time will tell

Do you have a flat or round trunnion?

You tried putting a bevel on the leading edge?

"rough" being a subjective term, there are lots of examples or worn bullet guides on line.

Post one that's close to what you are seeing.

I haven't beveled anything. I installed the bullet guide, which has a bevel. On my version there's no option to post pics like on the og blue version that calguns doesn't let me use anymore
