Best featureless AR stock for cheek rise

Setting up a long range AR10 in 6.5 and after adding scope mount and a 50mm objective I realized how poor the cheek weld is on a standard AR stock. I guess the Magpul PRS is a no go as I want to keep it featureless. Any ideas?

You can pin the CTR and add their cheek risers or stick on risers to your existing system if it's too short. Maybe add the McMillon style riser to a fixed rifle stock if you want that LOP.

You should be able to disable the PRS LOP portion also.

I’ll have to mess with the ctr stock riser. I’ll see how far back i can get my charging handle vs riser and see if it will work. When I looked at the magpul risers for the Moe and ctr and they said won’t work with charging handle. The LOP is fine. Just need my cheek lined up better.

A couple out of the box options are to get a post 2009 lo rise upper unless you are running AR10 that is, people often call the LR308 an AR10 so.
Likely you know the difference, but just in case.

The picatinny will be a little lower on the post 2009 LR uppers

Also, not sure they are out in LR308 or AR10, but a side charger should help.

I would have suggested the MOE risers, but as you said, charging handle ...

Try to locate the Larue one if you're concerned based on your stock pinning location.

Yeah, it’s a LR308. I didn’t think about a side charger. Too bad I already got two uppers. I saw the larue and it looks like it’s priced appropriately. No jenky plastic for me. Need to figure out something a little more solid.

A A2 stock with a McMillan style riser isn’t a bad idea either. I kinda like that. Little mix of old school and modern. But then I gotta change around buffer tubes and springs.

Or I get the Moe/ctr riser and the dremel and see what I can make happen.

Keep it simple with an A2. I use one on an 18” SPRish type rifle.

Do those Bradley cheekrest stay snug? Looks like they would have a bit of play?

They do, but you need to find the sweet spot in the Velcro adjustment, my only real gripe. I have the BUL model I rotate between an A2 and a Hogue stock on a 700.

I’m looking for rock solid, so unfortunately the Bradley is out.

I have the Luth ar adjustable stock on my 6.5. I just set it to where I like it and changed out the adjustable screws to a screw and bolt. Works great and looks clean.

I have some CTR stocks with cheek risers and they work great with the stock pulled out (which is the LOP I like). I'll have to check if the charging handle interfere with the stock pushed in a little. You can trim off the front of the riser if needed. I have these on most of my stocks because I always seem to need an extra 1/4" above normal stocks to get consistent sight alignment and proper cheek weld. Magpul makes taller ones too.

I also have a Larue Tactical Reciprocating Inline Stock Riser on one of my rifles and it is very comfortable, solid, and well built. It springs back smoothly out of the way if you are running your stock shorter. https://www.larue.com/products/larue...e-stock-riser/

                        Hope that helps!

Thank you! That helps big time. I’m going to try the larue in-line. I like to scoot in kinda close on my target scopes so that will help.
