Trying to decide on a 1-4 variable scope

Posted this in the optics section, but only got a couple responses.

I'm trying to find a scope for my next AR build. I want this rifle to be well rounded in all areas. Fast target aquisition at close range and precise shots out to 300 yards. The scope will most likely be mated to a Larue stealth
    16" upper.

The scopes I have looked at are the Accupoint 1-4, Meopta MeoStar 1-4x22 with K-Dot, and the fairly new Burris xtr-14. They are all around the same price range +/- some.

There's also a US optic sn-4 in the marketplace. Have done my research on that and have only heard very good things about it, but I dont know how it compares to the other scopes and I dont want to just hop on it without getting other's opinions. That is if its even still available.

Any opinions on the scope I listed or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Trust me I have done my research on the S&B's, but I am looking for something in the 600-800 range.

ART next time I see you I will bring my 1.25x4 trijicon out. It does everything the others do just better. With the new 30mm tube ones with mildot you could have a nice setup. Im running a trijicon 1x4 on my ak and ar. Optics are super clear and the weight of the scope is not much.Super bright dot and no batteries to run out. I used the trijicon in Iraq and it held up fine. I had a sn4 built like a tank and felt like it.

Call up Mike at CSGunworks who is local and he can have you check out a couple different scopes.

Sorry if I don't remember, but have we met in person before? That's nice of you, I'd love to check out the accupoint.

            Thanks g34, I'll give mike a call.

Personally, I love my K-dots. I prefer their reticle over the TR24 one, since it's pretty easy to do hold overs out to 300 with it. Zero on 200, aim with the bottom of the dot on 250 and top of the lower post on 300. IMHO, the post on the TR24 makes holdovers much harder.
The illumination is very nice and bright as well and I only need to bring it up to the highest, or second highest, on very sunny days. Sure, the battery life isn't all that good (~80h on max illumination), but a new battery ($4-ish) costs less than a full mag anyway and I always replace them before a match, so I've never had any issues with that either.
The Burris reticle is little too busy for me and I dont like the fact that the illumination isn't visible in daylight.
              With Oden on our side.

The k-dot seems like it would be hard to see the lit reticle in sun light. Anyone have any feedback on that?

Still awaiting more input on other scopes.

Well you seen my Nightforce, but the daytime illumination is non-existent and the NC-2 reticle is a little busy IMO for long distance shooting, I have not tried the 300 at Sac Valley yet and will see if I want to change reticles or master this one. At least I figured out how to shoot just slightly under MOA using the top of the 2MOA dot... Just not consistently yet

Yes, I have seen and admired your scope. It is out of my price range though.

I think the Meopta or TR24 is what you should be looking at... I want to try them out and see if I like them over my NF

It is actually bright enough that you have to dim it back a little during bright sunny days. A big favorite for 3-gunners, pretty sure the TR24 will be up there too. IOR Valdata will be releasing a short 1-4x soon, something to look into.
