The ring isn't a grenade spigot. It just keeps the grenade from sliding off of the spigot if the muzzle is pointed downwards.
Not all spigots have them. A2 flash suppressor is a good example of one that has no provision for such a thing.
I think the vendors refusing to sell the springs to Californians or taking them off of muzzle devices are being silly.
Probably hundreds of thousands of firearms in CA (perhaps even more) have rifle grenade spigots on them, or muzzle devices capable of being used in such a manner due to their dimensions and construction.Comment
