..sorry about my title, I was bored. Lol
Bi/metal is steel jacket with gilded copper over it. The copper helps it slip through the barrel/rifling and prevents the bullet from rusting/corroding. Lead cores.

WW2 tech that still works today.

Heat and plenty of it kills barrels. Mostly.

PS, the steel the extractors are made of are way tougher than the steel cases. Think hammer vs nail.

I have used an assortment of Russian steel cased ammunition for quite some time, and with the exception of one rifle, it has been fine. I have even reloaded it in .45ACP, with good result.
The one rifle that doesn't like it is a Ruger SR-556TD, and after 10-15 rounds one sticks in the chamber, and has to be punched out and cleaned. That is the only negative experience I've ever had with it.
My older G21 gen2 has had around 25K of Wolk, Tula, Herters, and other brands of steel, and still keeps going.

Some say steel casings will cause premature extractor wear. But think about the science. That bimetal projectile is traveling down the length of the barrel with much more energy. The problem is not the steel case.

That said, how many rounds a year do you shoot? You'll have to shoot thousands on thousands of rounds before you notice any difference on either the barrel or the extractor.

So the real issue is how gung-ho are you about cleaning your guns? These types of ammo tend to be dirtier (some corrosive).

If cleaning is not an issue for you, send it.

I clean my guns each time I return from the range and generally enjoy it. I especially enjoy cleaning by AR15 because its so easy to take apart and reassemble. I shoot about 300-500 rounds a month, basically as much as I can afford to. If I shot steel, I could shoot 500-800 rounds a month.

            You should look into reloading.

The reality is who cares. How hard is it to replace a 3.00 extractor if that's all it's going to do.

In Guns and Ammo AR15 2020 issue 2 mag there is a article on cheap ammo and in it the writer mentions extractor wear and barrel wear from steel case ammo. I shoot any steel case I can get in my SKS but my ar HATES Tula, it was not a mag problem it look like the Tula oal was too long and was failing to chamber. YMMV. MY ar shoots brass with no problems.

Had intermittent issues with Tula in my XD. Would sometimes not feed properly. Outside of that, if it went bang, it did it with gusto. Run it until you have to fix your guns. By that time the money saved could go towards any repairs
