PSA Upper - Can't remove M-Lok hand guard?

I just received a PSA 10.5" upper with a slant end M-Lok hand guard. I cannot get this hand guard off.

I removed the two hex screws and the hand guard will not slide off. I don't see any other screws/bolts that could be preventing this from coming off.

They probably put some threadlocker type adhesive on the barrel nut. Try heating it up then tapping with a mallet. The MI handguards along with others use a similar system.

I already tried hitting that area with a heat gun and trying to pull it apart with my hands. It didn't work..

Contact PSA and ask what they used or if they have recommendations.

Get a rubber mallet and wack it, but i recommend to not mess with it, PSA is notorious for over torque the barrel nut. you will not get it off trust me i had to dremel the barrel nut on mine. There's a bunch of threads out there where people complain about PSA. I think they do it on purposes so people don't mess with it or they have a really angry guy torquing this things.

I don't want to remove the barrel nut. All I want to do is remove the hand guard to install some accessories.. lol

I'm guessing I need to do this on a vise? My mag vise block is in the mail... :/

I was assuming if you are removing hand guard its most likely you are putting on a new one and will need a new barrel nut.

You cant add accessories without not removing the rail??

OOOOOH, you don't need to remove the hand guard to install accessories?

I did that with my stock CA7 hand guard..it just made the whole process easier..

I just put on my hand stop...lol

                      OP,

Make sure there isn’t some other hidden set screw that you are not seeing.

If you have removed the pinch bolts and the handguard isn’t budging, try running the screw in reverse. You don’t need to go crazy with the screws, just enough to get it to free up. See the video below.

Well best bet would be put it on the vise and try pulling twist it off or lightly wack it with rubber mallet.

might be a screw on since i don't see those clips that align it with upper.

                        GL OP.

Heat up the handguard beyond 400 degrees F with a torch and pull it off while it's hot.

                            Heat gun is too wimpy.
Propane torch is what you need.

Total Bubba idea. Maybe stick a flat-head screw driver in between the tabs where the hex screws were removed, then twist a bit while pulling it off. The object would be to open up the diameter of receiver-end of the handguard. A third hand or vise would come in handy at this point.

Disclaimer: I hope you don't bugger up your handguard
