Yeah, I always thought the hyphen was weird especially since the army technical manuals never referred to it that way.

It’s always “M16”.

The lower is fenced, since it an m16-a1 replica and not an xm-16e1. Colt also includes both the three prong flash hider and the bird cage as either would be correct for the time period.

I recently saw a real M16A1 on youtube and it had the fence. I wouldn't worry about the authenticity of that feature. IIRC the fence and the strengthening of the pivot pin area were rolling improvements.
