      Yeah, I always thought the hyphen was weird especially since the army technical manuals never referred to it that way.

      It’s always “M16”.

        I recently saw a real M16A1 on youtube and it had the fence. I wouldn't worry about the authenticity of that feature. IIRC the fence and the strengthening of the pivot pin area were rolling improvements.
