Thinking about getting the zhukov, but I have questions

I currently have the mi extended rail on my ak. I like it, except for (a) aluminum gets pretty hot, fairly quickly, and (b) there's something about not being able to readily take the gas tube off that really bothers me even though it's been proven that it's not necessary for cleaning.
I have the moe on my other ak and I really like it but want to see if the extra length of the zhukov is worth the extra money. I've read that it gets hot just as quickly as aluminum handguards due to the big chunk of aluminum attached to it, but just wanted to confirm with somebody who has firsthand experience ... so keep aluminum or go zhukov? Go!

In order to install the Zhukov hand guard you have to cut off the stock hand guard retainer. The magpul MOE AK hand guard allows you to keep the standard HG retainer.

I post some pics of my set up a few weeks ago on a Bulgarian AK-74.

If you look back you should be able to see it.

I already had to cut it off for the one I have now, so no biggie. I was just wondering about heat transfer mainly

I have the short Zhukov on a Romanian. No issues with heat. I really like it.

I would recommend the short Zhukov as well. The standard length feels front heavy and the rifle feels slow to maneuver. I think you will like the short version.

on the rail, I use polymer sections for where my hand is. You can also use camo gauze.

I would rock the entire zenitco setup if I could afford it Haha. I'll look into that shorty zhukov, is it much lighter or is there not much difference?

Maybe I'll buy some rail covers before I get a whole new setup.
