VFG (vertical) and AFG (angled) are different.

AFG is permissible on featureless based on my understanding. But I found AFG to be awkward to use. Phase5 m-lok handstop is my preference

He seems to be well aware of that. It's why he is asking how to install an AFG on his featureless rifle here.

I agree on the AFG though. I tried using BCM's little AFG thing. It's kind of a minimal version of one. Hated it right away. Couldn't figure out a way to hold it that felt natural. Sent it back. For me it's either a vertical grip or no fwd grip at all.

Have you ever used a set of real A1 triangular handguards on your rifle? I may be weird but personally they are my absolute favorites on AR rifles that don't need rail attachment points If you have a triangular endcap you are golden.

no. is the inside the same as round handguards, with full length heat shield? i hate to ask a stupid question.

oh! and yes, they are all triangular end caps.

I have dremeled M-LOK slots into MOE handguards.
You just need the correct dimensions of the slot, correct spacing between slots, and a steady hand.
You could also do it with an endmill.

After cutting a few additional M-Lok slots in a handguard for someone, I made up a drawing.
It's pretty easy on the mill with a 1/8" endmill giving the proper corner radius.

What I meant was I have a drill readily available if I want to do it, and the specs he provided would be very helpful if I were to actually drill it for some reasons. Tbh, I think I would pick up that 40$ quad rail, not too expensive and looks cool to me.

I was never a fan of quadrails, they are even more fugly after owner install rail covers.

Free floating handguards are still best, but Magpul drop-in handguards remain cost effective option. Takes less than 5 minutes to install
