new guy needs AR upper decision help

Hello all I wanted to thank everyone for the great forum here. I have learned a lot of excellent information over the last months. I need help deciding between a few complete upper receivers. One of these will be the last part for my first AR. The wait time for the LMT and Noveske are way out there but i am willing to wait. I was hoping to get some pros and cons for the uppers and real world experience.

    The uppers:
LMT MRP w/ 16" chrome lined barrel.
    N4 Light Recce Low-Profile Upper 16"
LaRue Tactical Stealth Sniper System LT011 w/ 16" barrel and 12" handguard

    Thanks for the help,
    Chris

Those are all excellent choices. I'm trying to get my hands on an N4 Light Reece Low Pro for my next build.

If you just have the complete lower waiting for an upper though and you can get the LaRue soon, get the LaRue. Nothing worse than a half-finished rifle.

I do have a LMT complete lower, well on the 18th it will be out of ten day jail. LaRue said 6 to 8 weeks for their uppers, which sounds pretty good right now.

          Thanks for the replies guys

Three great choices indeed. Hard to say but whatever you can get in the least amount of time would be the one.

If you already have a LMT lower, I would get a LMT upper if it was mine YMMV

Your last choice, the LT upper is a percision upper. You will need to have good optics and shoot match grade ammo to really get your moneys worth out of it. The noveske and LMT are excellent uppers built for high round counts and hard use. It all depends on the kind of shooting you plan to do.

I would suggest the Noveske is probably the best of both worlds - good accuracy with durability. It's also a mid-length (as opposed to the LMT), which will help with longevity and smoothness.

Another option, since you're considering a $$LaRue and $$Noveske and you already own an LMT lower is to go with an LMT MRP. This would open up some more accuracy-oriented barrels (and different gas systems) that are really well done.

The tricky part right now is finding one. LMT just said the wait for the MRP is August 2010. My bro has been waiting on a Noveske Recce for 4-6 months. I found one at a local shop but it was priced way to high for me. The laure is looking really good right now w/ a wait time of 6 to 8 weeks.
I may just wait and see what pops up in the for sale section.

I guess... I'm wondering if one upper is worth waiting for more than one of the others.

Not really. A gun you can shoot is worth far more than the potential of having a gun.
