    Comp mag

5.56: reach out and touch someone.
458 SOCOM: reach out and knock someone down.

I like it to keep my riffles compliant without a lot of other mods. At the range, its fine for 10 round shooting. Loading is not fast. I have featureless rifles for fast mag changes if I want to practice reloading... Teaching new shooters with a comp mag is good.

      Everything Skip_Dog said ^^^^^

I hate it for the reasons he mentioned. Depending on where you are I'd be willing to meet you at the range so you can put hands on it to see what you think.

I have one so so I could keep my rifle in stock form with a carry handle and regular stock and grip and flash hider. I never shoot it because it's a pain to reload compared to featureless.

It's about the same as a 30rd mag

It's the absolute fastest to install (and remove) fixed magazine compliance device I'm aware of. Insert the magazine, open receiver and tighten the screw on top of the mag = done; reverse for removal when out of state.

I like it for my builds which I don't want to substitute any original parts out for compliance, or for some of my non AR rifles that use AR mags. I have other rifles for when I want to do mag dumps. I own several Compmags in both 5.56 and 7.62.

There is a technique to properly loading the magazine; some people don't follow the procedure properly. Compmag has a video with tips:

                Dislike.
The rounds fumble around, get stuck in a groove inside
I am removing mine once a substitute is found

compmags- great for using normal grip but with fixed magazine.
featureless - modify your grip handling but able to use regular magazine.

So it STILL only holds 10 rds?

Take two PMags, and reverse couple 'em together.

It's shockingly expensive. Way too much for what it is.

I went ahead and ordered one, it'll be going on my wife's rifle and it doesn't get shot all that much. I just want to keep it legal and get rid of the AR mag lock thats on there, the upper doesn't work well with the AR mag lock and its a pain to operate. I tried to get my wife to go featureless but she tried mine and doesn't like it.

The counter-argument is that it if you add the cost of a 10 round Pmag to whatever other fixed mag solution you go with the cost is fairly close.

If she doesn't shoot much and doesn't like featureless set ups then the CompMag is probably the best option. I ditched mine to go featureless but it worked fine besides the slow reload time. If she follows the tips in the CompMag video posted earlier she won't have any issues.
