    Rear takedown pin stuck?

I don't know what I did but when I removed my upper from lower the rear takedown pin is stuck. It's flat on one side and appears to be twisted the wrong way. There is a little metal bar blocking it from going back in.

That little bar is the take down pin detent. It's a simple fix. Loosen up your castle nut on the buffer tube, slowly and carefully move the end plate between the nut and lower receiver to the side and prepare to catch the spring between the plate and detent. Once the pressure is off the detent you'll be able to back it out.

Reassembly is the exact opposite process. Just be sure you realign the takedown pin first.

Idiot proof is an oxymoron that I often fall victim too.

Me: They say it's idiot proof
Reality: Not applicable to you, lol

No need to loosen up the castle nut.
All he has to do is get a really small flat screwdriver and push the pin back and rotate the pin back into proper alignment.

I have that mag lock setup an some guns and just the right size screwdriver and a little finesse gets it done in no time flat.

Loosing and tightening the castle nut without an armorers wrench may not be the best idea.
