how do you shoot with a california fin?

I'm looking at them... They all look ridiculous. Fine, whatever. But I'm trying to wrap my head around arm placement... Are you going over the top? Lot of guns are too big for that. Saw one at youtube that had a shelf for your thumb.... I guess that could work.

Times like this I miss Texas.

I went with this , still almost feels right. Buck the fin , it's totally unsafe imho.

Those satisfy the requirements for featured rifles? Looks like you can get your thumb around it pretty easily.

Stuff like this has me looking at the CompMag. Looks like a great solution.

I pull the trigger with my finger...how else are you supposed to shoot? Fin or no fin.

Get a Mini 14/30, or do the best you can with the modified abortion of a gun, aka featureless AR or AK.

A shelf for your thumb helps, like on the Megafin. But I prefer the Sparrow Dynamic grip as best combo of ergodynamics and aesthetics, ymmv. Ambi safeties are also helpful.

If its for an AR, get an ambi safety that has a 45-57 degree option. then you can use that to set your thumb on.

This. Add comi's thumb shelf and just wrap your thumb over it. Easy.

Just make sure if you have an ambi safety that you have a short right side lever. Longer levers might interfere with the thumb shelf. Otherwise, easy and comfortable solution.

I went with the Generation III, which I think looks better.

If money isn't tight, check out the Fightlite SCR lower (or complete rifles etc), which use AR Uppers and Mags.

For some firearms, like the AR-15, yes. For others, like the FAL, not so much. This is why on the latter I went fixed-mag. Grip fins are not practical for any kind of serious use.

I hate fins. Run Thordson Gen III on my rifles and carbines.
My mother always told me to be careful what you ask for.

Just one more piece of parental advice I stupidly ignored.
