    Selector Switch Installation Question

    Hey there,

I have an Anvil Arms lower and I am using a STAG LPK. Everything went together fine until i came to the selector switch. I dropped the spring in the hole and went to insert the pin along with it and that is when i ran into problems. First of all the pin doesn't even fit in the main hole that the selector switch slides through, so i have to angle the pin into the tiny hole where the spring is. When trying to do that i ran into my second problem, i thought it was just the angle but am pretty sure that the pin for the selector switch is too large in diamater to fit into the small hole where the spring is.

    Am i doing something wrong?
    Is this a common problem?
What can i do to make it work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Will

So for the selector switch installation you did the spring first, then the pin, then installed the pistol grip? It is pin first then spring, the pin fits into the detent in the selector which is what holds the switch in place. The spring keeps pressure on the entire assembly and the pistol grip keeps the spring depressed.

      Worst explaination ever.....

How bought this. Make sure selector is all the way in...it should be in before you finish the trigger so it fits.

Flip over...selector detend goes in first....then put selector detent sping in grip and slide together.

Or give us picks of what you are doing.

I am going to go take a second look at it based on what josh just told me and if i cant figure it out ill take pictures and restate myself. Thanks for the quick replys

I usually just install the trigger, then the hammer, and then cock the hammer back and slide in the selector. Then while holding in the selector, turn the lower over, drop in the selector detent pointy end first, then put the selector spring into the hole in the pistol grip, and then slide the pistol grip into place, taking care to align the selector spring into the hole before I push the pistol grip into place. That's pretty much it.

1FSTREX, this is how I do it. Make sure you hammer is down and turn your receiver upside down.

              1) Insert the selector switch, face it towards the fire position. It needs to be like this the entire time.
              2) Insert the detent first. There are several detents, make sure it is the correct one. I *think* it is the smallest one. Pointy end faces selector.
              3) Next insert the spring.
              4) Carefully put on the pistol grip. There is a small hole on your pistol grip, the spring needs to go inside of this.
              5) Tighten the pistol grip down with the screw.

Once you are finished perform a function check:
              1) Place the selector on SAFE. Pull the trigger, and the hammer should not fall.
              2) Place the selector on SEMI. Pull the trigger and hold to the rear. The hammer should fall. Catch the hammer with your finger, note that the hammer will come forward hard so catch it early so it won't hurt. Release the trigger with a slow, smooth motion until the trigger is fully forward. The hammer should not fall. Push the hammer back down until it locks.
              3) Check to make sure the selector switches back and forth between safe and semi.

Hey thanks for all the help guys, Josh thanks for the information, just finished installing the selector switch without a problem. Definitely misread the directions, all the help finally made me read them properly. I now have a functioning lower receiver. Thanks again for all the help!
