QD sling mount VS HK hook

Gents, have a question on your preferred sling mount. Used to hike allot back many moons ago with various long arms using standard sling mounts I.E. on the bottom of the weapon, well let me back up, as configured from factory, K98K slings on the side, SKS with front sling mount and rear bottom & so on.

Have gone out a few times with an AR using QD mounts and although handy I'm looking at getting a 1 to 2 point sling, debating HK hook Vs. QD mount. Like the ability to not have the sling on the rifle yet still sling up if needed to check map/drink from canteen ETC.

That was a long way to say what do you use?

Go two point. Single point is kind of lame if you try walking/running with it
On ar mlok forearms, they normally have a couple of qd holes, plus you can add your own.
I use qd, just like them better

Unless you're a chick... or wanna become one... the HARD way!

On an AR, QD is the way to go.

Some foreign rifles (G3/HK91/PTR91/CETME, Bren 805, et.al.) have some funky factory sling points to them, and the HK hook is the way to go BEST on them. But for an AR with anything OTHER than A1/A2 oval handguards... go QD.

2 point sling is more controllable than the knee/ball knocker 1 point. I use the Vtac padded sling with QD mounts on my rifles. Just my opinion.

Don't use the Magpul paraclips... those things are junk. Stick w/ the HK style clips if you're gonna go that route.

I know the HARD way, MASH clips WON'T work with a Bren 805's factory sling points, either!

Thank you guys, think I'll stick to QD mounts. Didn't think about rails. Current ones rock magpul & CAR-15 stocks. Next two builds will have free float rails.

              Appreciate all the help.

              Cheers!

Think you. Was looking at them. Good to know.

QD on AR's. HK clip on Scars, AK's, HK's etc. Another option vs HK clips are wire loops they work well and don't make as much noise.
I use the mounts that come with the weapon.
