    Calguns, consignment or auction ?

What would be the best route for selling some older rifles? Best way to determine value?
Client's husband passed away a few years back and these have been locked up in a cabinet since.
    Rifles are a Universal M1 30cal semi and a Remington 742 Woodsmaster 30.06 semi.
    Shotguns are a Remington Model 31 16G pump 28in and a Remington 1100 12G 24in semi.
Then there are some .22 rifles including Remington 550-1, Marlin 60, and another Remington that I couldn't find the model number but had a stainless/chrome barrel and some kind of plastic chassis.
Most all appear to be in pretty good condition that I can tell. Although there is one other Remington bolt .22, forgot the model, without the bolt action in it.
I am a novice in the firearms world, so looking for some advice/opinions.
    Thanks

Look at sites like gunbroker to see what people are actually paying for the firearms.

Where is the seller? Our folks may be able to offer up a good auction house nearby.

If any members of the family are willing to deal with selling here, they will make more money, but at the cost of time.

Less than half of value if consigned at some places.

Another choice after getting an idea of value would be to put all of them up for one sale all at once, might get less, but the family has to decide how much time vs. money.
We have some folks here who do that IIRC.

Thanks for the info. The rifles are in Yorba Linda.
The current owner is in need of funds, so the more funds they are able to keep, the better.

You can check Gunbroker for appx. prices.

Then if you or a designated family members gets involved, post a thread here asking for a reasonable price and go from there.

Pictures and a discussion of the condition will help that along.

To ease up on the work, they could offer a bit of a discount to buyers of multiple items.

If they’re in Yorba Linda try Carol Watson’s in Fullerton.

But if they need the money try selling here first.

Post some good pics of the one with the missing bolt/unknown model #, and I bet someone here can identify it.
                    Sorry, not sorry.

I appreciate all the information. I am trying to get some pics. Will probably help the owners list in the marketplace on here and see what comes.

I found my notes. The .22 with the bolt removed, but in the cabinet, is either the Rem 550-1 or Rem 510.
The Marlin is actually a Model 600. Then there is a Squires Bingham (Kassner Imports) Model 16.
The unknown Remington I will try and get a couple pics of.
