    Saiga trigger for 9mm AK?

    Hey AK users,

Would it be possible to create a non-pistol grip 9mm AK using a Saiga trigger and a Saiga style buttstock? Or is the 9mm too different than the 7.62x39 internally?

    Thanks for any info!

It would be possible, however you would have to move all the associated parts, and drill new holes to mount the parts on the receiver.
    Poke'm with a stick!

I can't comment on the PAK9 or NAK9, but the AKV is probably easier to do than the KR-9 as the latter has the receiver already cut for a folding trunnion. But if you are going to weld and redrill rivet holes anyway, filling in the gap on the left side may be possible.

The internals are not that different in the KP-9/KR-9. In the AKV, I'm not sure if the "MAC" plate can work with Saiga Sporter parts, unless you can find the early models that have not been updated at the factory.

Have you looked at the factory CA-compliant (featureless) KR-9?

I don't have a 9mm AK yet. I'm trying to figure out how I can create one with a hunting style stock and wood furniture.

oh. because of the caliber, it would be easier to get a Ruger PCC. i dont see the value of going with an AK9 if you are going to change it up anyway. but what do I know?
