Do you like your triangle stock on your AK?

I'm thinking about putting one on my milled AK. Its a permanent modification and I dont know if I'll like it.

    Do you like yours?

Is it hard on your shoulder?

    Which one do you have?

    I love the looks.

Then length of pull is a bit short for me. There are some Russian buttpads that will add 1/2", but there are no small increments or thicker ones. You can strap on the common rubber shoes people use on underfolder stocks, but it takes the look away. Those rubber buttpads do make the stock a bit softer.

The cheekweld is OK with iron sights, but the moment you add magnified optics, you'll probably need a riser of some sort. Again, various Russian companies sell risers, and they work, but most of them look like cheap Tapco add-ons.

I have both Russian 5.5 mm and Bulgarian 4.5 mm varieties. I think also some aftermarket Taiwanese repros too. And the one made by K-USA for the KP-9 and the solid aluminum ones from US company (blanking out on the name, like Amy Klobuchar.) All of them feel sturdy.

How are you going to put the locking latch on a milled gun?

I would just get a AKM with the folding triangle stock... You could build your own...

This works on my receiver. I’m looking at the CNC Warrior triangle stock.

Are you able to use the folding stock adapter? Or are you running featureless?

As far as I know, folding stocks are no bueno in this communist republic due to OAL requirements even when folded. Correct me if I am wrong please.

Legal only if you have a BBRAW, I believe.

Of course not legal if featureless.

Not sure about fixed mag rules, that stuff is all after my gun buying time in CA.

What kind of “milled ak” are we talking about?

I seem to recall there was a non-folding triangle stock that bolts on without cutting receiver tangs, but it may have been for a stamped receiver.

I have one of these from Circle 10, only fits stamped guns.

Switching stocks on the milled rifles is a permanent modification. If you want a triangle type you should really look at getting a AKM type and swapping out the rear trunnion for the side folder...

It's easy to lock the side folders so They cannot fold. All it takes is part of a .308 (or similar) shell and a cotter pin. Thats how I did it when I was in CA.

Here are two pics of a "Kyber pass" 7.62x39 AK I built using a side folding rear trunnion and skeleton stock.

The second pic has a Russian cheek piece which latches over the top of the stock. It helps when using optics. (although this rifle doesn't have the rail. It just shows how the cheek riser fits).

Also if your rifle has the side folder rear trunnion you can also use a solid rear stock too...

As in the below pics. It's easy to swap the triangle for the solid. It's just a matter of removing and replacing the stock pin...

                            A- 104 and AK-105 clones I built.
