What ever you want to build!!

I don't think there are any kits you should stay away from.

There are so many different variations. there are also AK-74 kits too!!

Arms of America has some nice kits from Poland as well as a few others. You might join one of the "AK" forums such as the akforum.net as well as the akfiles forum.

Lots of info there and they have a sales forums.

Once you build your first AK I guarantee you will be hooked. Building AK's are like doing crack...

Here are a few pic of the different rifles and pistols I have built from kits. This is just some of the rifles and pistols I have built.

            Russian AKM.

            Russian AK-74U (pistol)

Two different Yugo rifles. M70 AB1 on top M70 AB2 below.

Yugo M92 built as a rifle with permanently attached (blind pinned and welded) barrel extension.

Yugo M92 built as a pistol.

Romanian "G" just like yours. (your kit's lower front hand guard has been modified to remover the hand grip which is called the "dong".)

            Bulgarian AK-74 kit.

            Built.

Bulgarian AK-74 buil;t as a under folder. ( this is a fantasy rifle, as no actual AK-74 under folders were made to be issued)

Hungarian under folder above. Polish AKM with a Beryl folding stock and scope rail below.

Two Romanian under folders built using very very used kits. The bottom rifle has the "reverse dong" found on some Romanian under folders.

You guys are a horrible influence but I appreciate it. My wife might not. Lol. I do feel like I would have a great time building though. I love history and it seems like it would be fulfilling to bring old rifles back to life.
I've had a akfiles account forever but it's been a while since I've been on there. Time to start browsing.
Gorgeous rifles by the way. I envy your collection and the time and effort you put into it.

Recon-01, Do you just want an AK type rifle? Or do you want an AK type rifle YOU built?

Whichever of those is a “Yes”, is your answer. I started building AK’s right after the Clinton AWB expired. My plan at the time, was to build 1 or 2. Today I’m my own gunsmith and OWN ONLY rifles & pistols I built. I build because I love to....never for money.

I’m sure if you search, there is a member close enough to you that has a press they would happy to let you use. I certainly wouldn’t pay someone to put it together for me. I’d walk you through it step by step if I was close. But I’m sure there are others here like that.

(As I whisper in your ear.... Just buy another kit... It's only money... Food, you don't need food, what you need is another AK.)
