Roll pins, where to get in San Diego, specifically the trigger guard roll pin

Anyone know where can I get a trigger guard roll pin in San Diego? I messed up the roll pin when I trying to install my trigger guard. I didn't force the issue but its out about 3-4mm. Also, can lend me a roll pin punch so I can take out the roll pin and install a new one? I'l order a punch set but I doubt it will arrive soon, so can anyone help me out?

There are some people that it's just not worth engaging.

It's a muzzle BRAKE, not a muzzle break. Or is your muzzle tired?

It's an 1/8" by 5/8" pin you can find in any hardware store. Ace Hardware has them in stock all the time. They call them compression pins.

I have a few extra roll pins and the right punch. If you want to meet out at Project 2000 one day this week, I can put the pin in for you.

Send me a PM if you want.

                Best,

                Michael

Be sure to put some oil on the pin and in the hole so your pin will go in a lot easier the next time. Try using a plastic tip hammer, it won't bugger up the roll pin.

I agree with BroncoBob on the oil, its the way to go.
I for one didn't use a punch but instead I wrapped vice grips with tons of masking tape and slow (and i mean slowly) cranked down the bolt on the vice grips then slowly eased it in until it was almost flush. I then used my punch to knock it the rest of the way through.

That is a good way to do it, and you don't have to worry about marring your receiver with an errant hit from the hammer. Just make sure the trigger guard is in place or you could snap off the little ears of the trigger guard.

Mike, Michael, Twinkies and Rukus, thanks for the offer. I'll be knocking on your doors if I don't find any from ACE hardware . By the way, I live in North Park so I'm close to Rukus.

Gotta love this place, a lot of people stepping up and not even thinking twice to help out fellow calgunners.

                              3/32" by about a 1/2". Actual measurements were .098x.5715".

All the pins for the AR can be found in the local hardware store. The snap rings are also available there.
